Like many races, the Fishmen’s influence on the world has risen and fallen over time. Fiercely territorial, they have both battled and allied with land-dwelling peoples, especially when their aquatic domain is threatened by the filthy, sprawling cities built along coasts and rivers. Their isolation has made them indifferent to the struggles of other races, yet when provoked, few can withstand the relentless tide of their ocean-born hordes. Deep in their hearts, they still feel the call to protect the Mother World from the ancient darkness that once threatened them. It is this duty, above all else, that drives them to war and compels them onto land.
